Continued from Koh Lipe, a day at Langkawi - Jan 2016

Continuing after Koh Lipe....

Once we arrived at Kuah, we went to find rental car at the jetty after passed the immigration. It was almost 6pm so the rental car counters were already closed. Luckily, there were lots of rental car owner right in front the exit. We bargained with a guy and got a manual Viva for RM60 (for 24hrs rental) including 2/3 tank petrol and can drop the car at the airport. We drove straight to our hotel, Season Inn Langkawi which was not far from Kuah Jetty.

We got a double queen bed room. The room looked very new. After took shower and prayed, we went out for dinner. The receptionist recommended a Thai seafood restaurant nearby the river. We had to drive little further up the river to get there. There was restaurant just across the street as well but we decided to follow his recommendation. I forgot the name of the restaurant but it is just beside the river and has yellow signboard.

We ordered sweet & sour fish, chili crabs, stir fried veggies and butter prawn. It was quite a big dinner but we finished everything. We noticed that some of the waiters were staring at us while we ate. When we paid, the cashier told us she was surprised we can eat so much. Lol, they must be thinking, these 4 girls ate like a monster. We felt like we had to explain that we just came back from Koh Lipe and we were kinda starving since we did so much activities. We didn't say that we actually ate a lot more than that the night before at the island. Haha.
Sweet & Sour fish...the only dish I took pic...lepas tu lupa nak amik gmbr dah

After dinner, we went to Dataran Lang to see the big eagle statue. Even though I'm Malaysian, this is the first time I have ever been to Langkawi. I am actually surprised how beautiful and interesting Langkawi is. There was lots of people at the statue though it was almost 11pm at the time. Some part was under renovation but people still got into the area...

The majestic eagle statue...super big

The next day, we checked out early in the morning and went for breakfast at the jetty. There was small stall in front of the area where people take boat to Pulau Payar Marine Park. We had simple breakfast of roti canai and teh tarik. We took some pictures nearby the jetty then drove to the cable car.

It was around 9:30am. There was already lots of people queuing up for tickets. The ticket was sold individually or packaged with art in paradise, 6D cinemotion, or duck tour. Since we have limited time to explore everything, we bought the cable car + art in paradise ticket. Here they have schedule for the time to board the cable car so we decide on schedule after one and half hour so we can explore art in paradise first. We thought the time will be enough for us to take pictures.

Art in Paradise
We were wrong! 1.5 hrs was not enough! We did had fun in the museum, tried lots of pose and took pictures. We took pictures more than two third of the drawings inside but we kinda rushed it at some of the last parts because we need to get to the cable car.

We got into the cable car entrance just in time. So the time stated in schedule was not actually time to board the cable car, but time to get inside the entrance. We still had to queue again inside but it was not too long, the queue actually moved quite fast. We watched 3D movie in the dome theater first then continue queuing for the cable car. I was so excited to ride it! Paid RM5 for a set of binocular to rent. This cable car has slope at 42deg which said to be the steepest in the world! The journey was quite long as well, over 900 metres, so we got to enjoy the view and took pictures. It was worth to rent the binocular because I was able to zoom in the spectacular view from above. Watch out for the waterfalls! Pictures below will tell the rest.

Whoa, see the angle it swings

I thought this is only in Paris???
There are 2 points up the hill. We reached the middle station and walked around a bit, then continue to take another gondola to the top station. It was another 450 meters distances to the top of Gunung Machinchang.

We reached the top. I thought the ticket included the sky bridge but actually you have to buy another ticket for it. Since we do not have enough time left, we took pictures then took the ride down.

We left the cable car area heading to the airport. The plan was to have lunch along the way then shop at Duty Free Shop nearby the airport. While driving along the sea with airport on our left side, we saw Laksa Ikan Sekoq stall. Apparently it was a really famous stall for its taste and they serve Laksa with whole fish. So we park besides the road and ate the laksa with coconut drink. The laksa is tad expensive RM5 for one bowl compared to usual price of RM3.50 but it's understandable since they also gave you a whole fish. The gravy was thick and full of fish meat so it was really good. There were other stalls as well but this has the best laksa.

Afterwards we went to The Zon and Coco Valley Duty Free at Pantai Cenang to shop for chocolates.
The prices were generally bit cheaper than Labuan. Both of the shops were beside each other and accessible from inside so you can quickly check and compare prices between these two shops.

A must to buy, nutella spread

My favorite chocolate, the crispy chocolas...
I actually bought lots more than what I planned, but well all of us did the same, haha. We happily headed to the airport and left the car at the parking. After informing the rental car owner of the car location, we went to print our flight ticket, then waited for the flight.

Time to go...bye Langkawi! I wish I had more time to explore Langkawi, I guess that will be for the next time.
