Seoul, Korea - Jan 2016 - Day 6

We woke up early to catch the 7:30am shuttle bus from Itaewon to Jisan Ski Resort. We was waiting until it was 7:31am at the bus stop but the bus didn't show up. That's when I saw a bus at the pedestrian crossing bridge and we went to check it out. Sure enough, it was the bus. Luckily the driver didn't leave us.

It was a smooth ride to Jisan Ski Resort. The road leading to the resort wasn't covered with snow so we know that it must be man-made snow at the slope. Oh well, it will be a bit hurting for our butt I guess.

I was kinda nervous because it has been almost 4 years since the last time I went for snowboarding. We got a coupon from information center nearby the parking area then headed to the information center at the resort.

The guy at the information center spoke fluent English. He told us if we are beginner we do not need to buy the lift ticket. I was kinda surprised because usually you will need to buy the lift ticket to ride the lift. We asked him twice and he said no you won't need it. So we only rent the equipment and gears.

We headed to the beginner slope and went straight to queue at the lift. We waited for quite awhile because of the crowd. Then when our turn came, we were turned down! The staff told us we need the ticket to ride the lift. I was confused because the information center told us we won't need to buy ticket for beginner slope! Then we realized he must meant that we need to walk and drag our board all the way up to the top. What the heck! The information center did not gave us full explanation.

We already wasted about an hour changing and queueing, so we figured it will be a waste as well to buy the lift ticket now. We only left with few hours left to play so we will not be able to utilize fully the ticket if we buy it. And the ticket was not cheap.

Luckily we get to beg the staff to give us free ride on the escalator up to the mountain twice. Another 3 rounds, we had to drag our board up the slope then ride down.

I was falling down few times at first, but afterwards it was a smooth ride. We forgot about the bad information staff and enjoyed sliding down.
